The unusually high percentage (41%!!!!) of female characters this week is due to some debatable choices on my part regarding which roles I counted. These are:

The Chapter 2 closer was significantly worse than usual in terms of people-of-color representation.[*] I hypothesize that this reflects the _Heroes_ trend of white people == main characters and people of color == supporting cast/background.[**] The only non-recurring character in this episode was the thug from the Monica/Micah/Nikki plotline.
Numbers:

Male characters: 14 (64%)
Characters of color: 7 (32%) [black: 2 (9%), e. asian: 2 (9%), biracial: 1(5%), latina: 1 (5%), s. asian: 1 (5%)]

[*] Usually, characters of color comprise ~50% of speaking roles in an episode of _Heroes_.
[**] Which, sadly, is still better than most American TV, where white people == everybody.
